My Little Bs Have the Big C

A Breast Cancer Blog For Young Women

Family Photo Shoot

Something that was very important to me is that we get some family photos before my surgery and chemotherapy started.  I wanted to preserve a time when we were happy and (relatively) healthy, as if nothing was wrong.  I called on the best photographer I know, Julia Newman of Julia Newman Photography.  I know that she is the best because she shot our wedding photos and I’ve been stalking her blog ever since and she has grown as an artist.  It just so happened that she was doing mini sessions with families and babies so our timing was perfect.

We met in Central Park by the boat pond in the morning and the light was beautiful.  We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day.  Julia was wonderful with Oliver and he was curious about her from the moment they met.  The session was 20 minutes long which is perfect with for a toddler that just wants to run and jump in the pond.  We got some great shots and we couldn’t be happier.

If you live in the NY Metro area and are looking to for a wedding photographer, family photos, new baby photos, headshots, etc…, definitely give Julia a call.  She is the best.  If you are not in NYC and have been diagnosed with cancer, I highly recommend the experience of having photos taken before treatment starts.  It’s a wonderful experience with a present you’ll have forever.
